Visit google.comĀ in Internet Explorer today and you’re likely to see a big blue bar at the top of the page saying “Come here often? Make Google your homepage” as Google attempts to convince you to set Google as your home page.
I guess that Google have decided it’s an easier task to get you to change your home page than to install add-ons such as Google Toolbar or an entirely new browser such as Google Chrome.
The “make Google your homepage” message used to be displayed below the search buttons but it’s a little more obvious now!
However, nothing has changed on any of the other browsers? So why is this only on Internet Explorer? We imagine it’s because it is the only significant browser that doesn’t have Google as the default search engine when it’s installed (it doesn’t even include Google in the list of available search engines. How naughty Microsoft).
